4 game changing lessons from travel around the world

You don’t get much better than exploring a place you have never been before; or going to a part of the world you have never been and learning about a new culture. Travelling is one of the best experiences. I am far from having been to every country in the world, but I have been to a fair few. Wherever I haven’t been is on my list to go some day. Seeing new places is great but it is by embedding in the culture where the value comes from. In this post I share 4 lessons I have learned from travel around the world.

1 There is always another perspective

Our view of the world is formed by our environment and experiences, and that differs depending on the culture and location. Different nations value different approaches, and travel around the world gives you the opportunity to observe and live in, what to you is a, new way of doing things. Being able to see something from a different angle will enable you to better solve a problem, or make a more informed decision; and travel opens the door to having that different perspective. More generally, this can come from meeting people from different backgrounds, even from the same country; but the value comes in taking the time to understand not just a viewpoint, but also the experiences that sit behind that viewpoint.
