How to live life on your terms
You spend your days slotting into what is already there. Systems designed by others, standard ways of operating that everyone simply follows. Some aspects suit you but others do not. It is factors that do not suit you that deplete your energy and ultimately become your main limiting factor.
Why am I always tired?
The tiredness, the fuzziness you feel even after a short task is because you have been operating differently to how we like to do things.
You have been using twice as much energy to operate in a way that meets the system set by someone else. You are living life on other people’s terms. There are times where this is necessary to complete a task, or you have to adapt to other people’s styles, and that is okay. But it doesn’t have to be like this for the majority of our time.
Figuring out your terms
To live life on your terms you need to now what those terms are. It should all be based on how you like to operate…
Are you task or people focused?
Do you want to know how someone’s weekend was?
Or do you just want to get on with the work?
Task focused — get frustrated on non-productive time.
People focused — get frustrated not truly knowing the people.
